Acorn Nursery started in March 1985 as a small run down nursery with lots of potential. From small and humble beginnings, we have strived to do the best we could and have expanded by buying the block next door, put in a café when it just wasn’t done in nurseries and opened a varied and diverse gift shop/home wares section. In 2004, after many years of being a finalist or runner up, Acorn won the best large garden Centre in Victoria, and went on to win the Best Large Garden Centre in Australia. Not to rest on our laurels, we won the same titles again in 2005 and 2006, becoming the first Garden Centre ever to win three in a row at the National level. To reward us for our efforts and stimulate the competition, the Nurseryman’s Hall of Fame was created, into which we have been put for three years which removes us from entering the Garden Centre Awards competition for that time.

Through all of this we have remained a family owned business with close ties to the community and, since 1985, have maintained an ongoing support for many local schools, kinders and not for profit organizations. We have on staff six qualified horticulturalists who endeavour to solve your garden problems and improve the standard of your garden and gardening. Our mission statement is to deliver the best advice, the best products, the best service and to give our customers the best value for their money. Our best customers are those who have had the best results in their gardens with our products and advice.
